Eligibility Requirements

1. Applicants must complete and submit the scholarship application in its entirety.

        Incomplete applications will not be considered.

1. Applicants must be a high school senior or current college student pursuing further education.

2. Applicants must be enrolled in the trades program prior to being awarded a scholarship.

3. Scholarship proceeds will be mailed to and administered by the Garden City Community College Financial Aid Department.

4. Applicants must provide two (2) letters of recommendation from those who know them well and who attest to their character, abilities and potential for success.

5. Applicants must provide an official school transcript showing a cumulative grade point average.

 

Deadline

The deadline to submit your application is two weeks prior to the start of the semester.

 

Notification

1. All applicants and recipients will be informed of the Scholarship Committee’s decision regarding their application status. A notification will be sent no later one week prior to the start of the semester.

2. Scholarship recipients may choose to provide photographs. If a recipient submits a photograph, the Southwest Kansas Builders Association reserves the right to use the student’s photograph and name. This usage may include, but is not limited to, promotional materials, publications, or announcements related to the scholarship program.
